Key components This financial accounting and reporting role offers the opportunity to provide financial support in the adoption of a new International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS 16) relating to lease accounting. This role also offers the opportunity to provide support in preparing for overseas audits as required.  The role will require the successful candidate to work alongside other members of the UK Financial Accounting & Reporting team and also develop relationships with members of the wider KPMG Business Services team.  The role is based in Watford.

 

Key responsibilities

 

Lease accounting:
■ Populating new software with details of all leases that the firm is a party to, whether property, car or IT related;
■ Maintaining details of those leases within the software to ensure that reporting generated is based on latest information at all times;
■ Performing monthly and quarterly accounting entries for management and financial reporting purposes;
■ Generating monthly, quarterly and annual reporting in support of accounting entries and financial reporting disclosures.
Providing support to the team in preparation for overseas audits:
■ Extraction of core SAP data, related to either engagements or entities;
■ Maintaining excel based calculations supporting overseas reporting, reflecting manual post-SAP adjustments, including but not limited to those relating to reporting in different currencies, at different period ends and under different GAAP;
■ Collating all underlying support for overseas substantive audits, including but not limited to sales invoices, engagement letters, staff contracts, third party cost invoices.
Assisting in other ad hoc projects on process and technical issues as appropriate.
