Forestry Worker

Forestry Worker (BK3996) Scarborough, England

Salary: GBP8.21 - GBP16.7 per hour

Castle Employment have an excellent opportunity for a candidate wishing to work outdoors in an outstanding natural environment at a Forestry Commission site, performing manual work where you can really see and appreciate the progress you and your team have made during a certain time frame. 


As a Forestry Worker you will be required to carry out a number of specific tasks depending on the weather, season and workload of the Forestry site. For the summer season these tasks will include; Lining Out by machine and manually, Netting, Weeding. 

There may also be other jobs requiring completion at certain times of year or under certain weather conditions, however you would be fully informed of these and the purpose of your role at that time. You could be working in all weathers so be prepared for that, although you will be provided with any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and suitable weather attire. 

Being a Forestry Worker obviously encompasses a variety of day to day responsibilities, most of which have a very manual nature so it is important that you are fit to work and have the agility/stamina to complete your targets set during the day; the Forestry Commission operate an incentive bonus system to encourage efficiency and productivity from individuals and teams, so the harder you work the more you will be financially rewarded on top of your hourly rate.

Hourly rate: £8.21; Overtime (after 37hrs) £12.31 per hour; following 12 weeks of working at the Forestry the hourly rate increases to £9.48 per hour 


Hours per week: 37 hrs basic 

(Due to the rural location of the site, there is no public transport, so you would need to arrange your own transport to and from site) 

All PPE provided and kept on site.
