Sr Research Associate (9776) Santa Clara, California

Position Summary:

Plans, initiates, executes investigations in response to support needs. Maintains high level of product expertise and understanding of product applications and advises top management on support-related topics. Promotes optimal usability and customer satisfaction of existing and future products through training, development of support tools and responding to support needs.

 

 

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides product expertise and 3rd tier level support for the global support organization for assigned product lines.  
  • Acts as liaison between the field support and application support organization and internal groups and functions.
  • Designs, conducts, analyzes, and interprets laboratory experiments and investigations based on customer inquiries and other reports of product performance.
  • Leads multidisciplinary teams in the investigation of reported issues.
  • Applies structured methods and techniques for problem analysis.
  • Communicates with customers directly in response to inquiries and during investigations.
  • Uses company processes to record, manage and communicate results of support requests.
  • Develops tools and methods to improve ability to support existing and future products.
  • Takes ownership of their work and potentially the work of others
  • Develops appropriate documents (i.e. QCs, SOPs, instruction manuals, documents required, etc.)
  • Provides guidance on and designs internal training curriculums and standards.
  • Represents support organization in development projects.
  • Complies with company quality management systems, policies and procedures
  • Provides mentorship and training
  • Additional duties/responsibilities according to business needs
  • Experience with genomics, genotyping analysis, microarrays, and statistical methods is highly desirable.
  • Experience in clinical settings a plus.
