Job Description

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibility includes management reporting and close process, physical inventory monitoring, and accounts receivable and payable review.  Responsible for reviewing actual results against budget/forecast and explain and document the reason for any variances.  Candidate must be proactive in identifying and resolving potential issues in a timely manner. 

Key relationships will be with the Controller, SVP of Finance, Senior Sales Staff

 

Detailed position requirements include:

  • Review and challenge accounting treatment for planned transactions
  • Drive productivity initiatives including customizations of accounting system, process re-design, process documentation, and company-wide communication
  • Meet with operational teams to review planned activities and identify implications to the Finance department.  Prepare recommendations to best accomplish operational goals while minimizing additional workload on Finance
  • Understand, monitor, and troubleshoot transactions and provide reports to summarize key data
  • Preparation of monthly operating expense summaries and clearly explain and document changes from plan
  • Review and reconciliation of customer orders and inventory transactions
  • Review accounting related to cooperative advertising promotions
  • Strong knowledge of receivables and payables, in particular relating to physical product
  • Coordinate ad-hoc projects and audit requests
  • Develop and distribute project P&L’s for priority releases, showing budget vs. actual results

  • Advanced Great Plains skills greatly preferred
  • Strong Knowledge of GAAP, CPA preferred
