Client Accounting Manager -

Looking for someone working for a mid-sized to large law firm who is intereted in making a progressive move.

Responsible for performing various client services functions including, but may not be limited to, supervise and contribute in the processing of client invoices, accounts receivable write-offs, maintenance as it relates to client matters, cash receipt applications, escrow and accounts payable functions.

Other duties to include but not limited to:

Supervise daily activities in Accounts Payable – coding

and inputting vendor invoices, check processing, providing backup as requested, training staff, petty cash

depositing of client checks and/or wires. Create/Maintain/Distribute daily/monthly billing and receipt budgets for Management.

Participate in month end accounting system close and balancing.

Resolve unapplied cash issues.

Necessary Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent and four or more years related experience preferably in a large legal or professional services firm; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three or more years supervisory experience desired. Computer proficient with extensive knowledge and understanding of Accounting database systems. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with courtesy and diplomacy, efficiently follow written and verbal instructions, provide information, and maintain effective relationships with a diverse group of attorneys, clients, staff, and outside contacts. Outstanding analytical skills requiring an aptitude for detail, precision, and logic with comprehensive knowledge of complex accounting principles and practices in order to conduct detailed analysis of client services procedures, general ledger accounts, balance sheet and income statement activity, and budget variations. Ability to identify and analyze complex accounting/client services issues and problems and to recommend and implement solutions. Proactive with excellent troubleshooting, problem resolution, and follow-through skills. Supervisory/managerial skills necessary in order to interact and communicate with subordinates, provide instruction/direction/training, determine work priorities, and coordinate the activities of a work team.   

Desired Qualifications: Knowledge of the accounting processes and reporting requirements used by a large national law firm preferred. Two – three years experience with CMS (Aderant) or Elite accounting systems preferred. Excel, Outlook, and MS Word preferred.
