My client is a mid-tier contractor based in Melbourne’s CBD who are starting to take on some larger projects as the market heats up. They have been established since the early 60s and have enjoyed slow but consistent growth over the last 10 years. They have worked hard to retain a harmonious, family-oriented culture, and have been rewarded with strong staff tenure.
Their scope of works is predominantly based around providing bulk earthworks, landfill construction and wastewater infrastructure projects.
As an estimator, you will be working as part of a team to prepare tenders as the principal contractor.
- Assess project brief, including value engineering and risk analysis
- Draft and issue sub-contract packages
- Assess sub-contract and supplier tenders
- Be part of the tender presentation team
- Handover to delivery team
- Ability to prepare first principal estimates (based on excel)
You will be expected to think on your feet and consistently be working towards company objectives of process improvement and margin retention are critical. Your attitude towards work and life will be just as important as your nuts and bolts estimating ability when it comes to your success at this company.
Ideally you will have 4+ years’ experience in civil estimating, along with qualifications in civil engineering/construction management/surveying.
