REQUIRED Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business or a related technical discipline Direct work experience acquiring State or Federal permits is required, minimum 7-9 years experience. Direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development, planning and execution, minimum 7-9 years experience Strong familiarity with project management software Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment Professional knowledge of the principles, practices, techniques, and underlying concepts of acquiring permits from State and/or Federal agencies. Office Suite software: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word (including MS Office 2010) Customer Service Skills Assertive communication skills required, both verbal and written Possess a valid state drivers license Comply with ASTM F2413-05, Class 75EH rated footwear with over the ankle lace up and rigid sole and heel for field work.
RESPONSIBILITIES Proactively manage and coordinate Real Property Services efforts to acquire permits on New Transmission Line Projects, Transmission Line Rebuild Projects, Transmission Substation Projects, Communication (Radio and Fiber) Projects and other project types as assigned. These permits include Corps of Engineers, DOT, BLM, USFS, DOE and railroad crossing permits. Lead the permit team with agency interaction, project assignments, quality control, etc. Proactively coordinate the Real Property Services permitting activities including support from Project Coordinators, Geospatial Services, Survey and Mapping, Real Property Field Services, Real Property Valuation & Forestry and Real Property Services Technical Support. Diplomatically coordinate with the Transmission Engineering Project Managers and Real Property Project Coordinators as well as the Real Property Services Project Management Team to develop a detailed Real Property Services project permit scope and a project permit schedule that is aligned with and conforms to the overall Transmission Project Management project schedule. Serves as the primary Real Property Services point of contact for all permitting activities. Serves as the Real Property Services permitting liaison with various State and Federal agencies. Monitor and maintain project permitting status. Analyze and identify permitting risks, complete a risk registry and plan risk responses. Monitor for risk triggers throughout the life of the project and implement risk response when required. |
