Castle Employment are looking for a Commercial Manager (Designate) for a progressive, forward thinking manufacturing business based in the Scarborough area. The role has a clear progression plan for the successful candidate to become Commercial Manager for the company within 18 to 24 months. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the main purpose of the role is to be the key point of contact between the customer and production. Initially the role will be working closely with a small number of key clients, in order to gain a holistic understanding of how the business works. The role will then follow a structured development plan, and will involve:

  • Analysing and developing the commercial processes across the business
  • Overseeing the costing and estimating function to customers, and assisting in bidding and tender processes.
  • Be heavily involved in the investigation and potential implementation of a Management Information System
  • Knitting all departments across the business, such as Sales/Production/IT, together to help make continuous commercial improvements.

Requirements:

The client is looking for the following skills/experience:

  • Motivated, driven and looking to develop and further career
  • Strong leadership and management
  • Ideally having worked in a commercial function in a manufacturing/production organisation
  • Good level of Microsoft Excel knowledge. (This will assessed as part of the application process)
  • Effective communication across all levels and formats, both internally and externally
  • Extensive commercial awareness
  • Have a structured and organised approach to work

  • The salary for the position will be between £30,000-£45,000, dependent on experience
