Commodity Buyer

Commodity Buyer (RL6899) Pickering, England

Castle Employment are looking for an experienced Commodity Buyer to join an established business based in North Yorkshire. The successful inidividual  will be responsible for providing a key buying resource to the company for a specified commodity or commodities.  This is a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expediting any orders raised
  • Obtaining quotations
  • Liaise wit & manage selected  suppliers
  • Perform supplier  selection activities
  • Act in response to cost down initiatives
  • Communicate effectively at all levels within the business

Skills/Experience needed:

  • Relevant experience within an engineering environment
  • Minimum 2 years purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment
  • MRP experience would be an advantage
  • An understanding of quality requirements & procedures for MOD/sub sea vehicles
  • Excellent communication  and organisational  skills
  • A relevant degree qualification preferable, but not essential
