Castle Employment are looking for a Supply Chain Manager to work for a well-established and well respected manufacturing businesses based in North Yorkshire
Reporting in to the Operations Manager & Director of Finance the role would be working as part of production and finance and would suit someone with experience within supply chain who is looking for the next stage in their career.
Responsibilities:
- Co-ordinating the sourcing, purchasing and intake of products and materials
- Maintaining maximum/minimum stock levels to ensure that business is able to respond quickly to any changes in production/customer demand
- Understand all current and future manufacturing projects and their requirements in order to buy any required material
- Building and maintaining good strategic relationships with key supply partners, links with contacts at different levels.
- Evaluating the suitability and capability of possible new supply partners
- Negotiating supply contract terms and service level agreements
- Ensuring supply chain are receiving complete and unambiguous information to supply goods and services
- Ensuring that significant purchases are strategically analysed and negotiated prior to orders being placed
- Establish and maintain an approved supplier list, including performance management
- Analysing factors affecting costs, negotiate any attempted price rises, watch commodity costs
- Identifying areas with potential for savings, research alternatives and run pricing exercises to find ways of increasing sustainable profit
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience within manufacturing/engineering in supply chain
- Planning & organisational skills
- Experience in managing a small team
- Good working knowledge of Excel & other IT purchasing packages
- A motivated & self motivated team player
