Buyer (RL7788) Pickering, England
Castle Employment are looking for a Buyer to join an established business based in North Yorkshire. The successful individual will be responsible for the procurement of goods and services. The role would suit an experienced Buyer or would suit someone that wants a career in Buying. This is an opportunity for the right candidate to gain skills and develop within the purchasing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement of material/goods in line with the demands of the business and in accordance with MRP
- Rescheduling / Order Progressing to endeavour to meet the demands of production and providing accurate up to date information.
- Attend production meetings as required
- Internal communication with Engineering, Quality, IT, Production, Stores and Commercial
- Ongoing correspondence with suppliers required/directed
- Ordering materials via MRP taking into account batch quantities and lead-times.
- Allocating newly created items to preferred supplier on ERP system.
- Involvement in continuous improvement practices throughout the procurement department
Skills/Experience needed:
- Experience of working in a similar role
- Positive and proactive attitude to work
- Good communication skills written and verbal
- Ability to make decisions either on own or as part of team
- Good negotiation skills
- Aptitude for learning and development
