Head of Business Development (BK3681) Scarborough, England

THE POSITION:

Castle Employment are currently recruiting for a Head of Business Development for a vocational and technical further education establishment in the Scarborough area. This is initially a 3-6-month contract.

The role reports directly to the Principal and will manage a small team of consultants/administrators to generate business development activities for the company driving sales activities and the acquisition of new business.

The role requires a proven business development and sales background with the drive and focus to grow awareness, manage current accounts as well as uncover opportunities and deliver services. An understanding of apprenticeships or distance learning will be an advantage however not essential.

The role will be based from the Scarborough site; however, travel will be essential to the role.  

Responsibilities

  • Seeking opportunities for business development inline with business objectives.
  • Responsible for heading up their expansion in new markets as well as continued expansion among existing clients.
  • Building relationships with existing clients to increase their current spend.
  • Attending networking events across the region to grow awareness of the facility and courses available
  • Engage with local business and employers to understand needs and sell opportunities
  • Creating, negotiating and closing commercial agreements.
  • Engaging with potential students with current opportunities
  • Review student activity and ways to increase course uptake across specific areas.
  • Support Business development consultants and administration staff settling clear goals and objectives.
  • Reporting monthly to principal and senior team on achievements and KPI's 

 

THE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven business development manager who is used to working to targets.
  • Proven track record in sales, business development and winning business.
  • Proven track record of increasing revenue through generation of leads.
  • Previous management experience 
  • Understanding of apprenticeship/distance learning or education sector
  • Full clean driving licence.
