Vice President of Manufacturing Operations:
Note: PRIOR AUTOMOTIVE EXPERIENCE A MUST
LOCATION: Central Florida
Summary: Vice President will be responsible for the overall direction, strategy, planning and execution of the Manufacturing facility located in the Central Florida area. Experience working with international suppliers and partners a must. Specific experience in low mix, high volume as well as high mix low volume environments. Utilize ‘lean’ techniques and metric management to support the operation to meet US Automotive standards and requirements.
Job Duties:
Strategic planning and execution to enhance the profitability, productivity and efficiency of the company’s manufacturing operations.
Assure manufacturing implements full Automotive PPAP requirements, Control Plans, PFMEA, etc.
Continually investigates and introduces process improvement measures.
Develop manufacturing plans, goals and future project innovations to guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of operations.
Interacts regularly with executive team and individual department heads to ensure that the company’s manufacturing operations priorities are aligned with overall company strategy.
Develops the manufacturing plans and establishes procedures to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards. (TS16949 & ISO14000)
Interfaces directly with customers and vendors as needed on all aspects of manufacturing.
Initiates and coordinates major projects; including plant layout changes, selection and installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.
Ensures safety, health and environmental compliance is included as part of everyday activities. Works with managers to improve employee engagement in safety, health and environmental initiatives.
Oversees the preparation of the yearly budget and P&L (OPS) to meet the defined objectives.
Defines requirements for staff, equipment and facilities appropriately to respond to market needs according to volume budget and S&OP forecast.

Qualifications and Skills Required:
Minimum of 15 years overall management experience in a manufacturing environment with a track record of strong leadership and success, ideally in the Automotive Manufacturing industry.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent is preferred

Demonstrated skills with project management tools and methodologies
Experience in managing a vertically integrated facility with all business aspects receiving raw materials, manufacturing components, assembling finished goods to the shipping of the product, as well as knowledge of ERP systems and inventory management (logistics), theory of constraints, capacity planning, and quality control.
Should have a working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices (Toyota Production System, 5S, Kaizen Activities, Cultivating a Kaizen Culture, Supply Chain Management, Value Stream Mapping, etc.).
The ideal candidate will have 15 to 20 years’ experience in a progressive Lean manufacturing operation, and leadership experience with a complex, diverse, and dynamic manufacturing environment.
Great communication skills and the ability to connect and influence employees at all levels.
Ability to handle pressure and demands of the Automotive Industry by adapting to the situation quickly, taking charge and leading the team through potential customer stop ships, sorts, 8D’s, etc.
Ability to hold employees accountable for results through coaching and able to recognize when education and training is needed.
Ability to balance big picture thinking and attention to detail.
A thorough understanding of quality systems
