Operations Manager/ Warehouse and Transport Manager
An opportunity has arisen for a Warehouse and Transport Manager to work in a professional trade/ distribution environment for this supplier of construction products.
The role
To manage and oversee the running of the warehouse, yard and transport functions on site to ensure efficient, timely and profitable delivery of orders to customers.
Building and maintaining successful working relationships with customers and colleagues to achieve high levels of customer service
Ensuring high levels of health and safety in the branch and enforcing safe operating working practices and the adherence of all staff
To maximise efficiency and productivity through the effective deployment of resources and staff
Achievement of Warehouse and Transport Key Performance Indicators to agreed standards
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience of managing and leading a warehouse and/or transport team to successfully deliver results
Customer relationship management experience is essential with the ability to handle and resolve queries
Ability to plan and organise self and a team to achieve maximum targets – e.g. stock, yard and driver management etc…
A positive attitude with the ability to ‘make things happen’
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation essential and transport legislation desirable
Driving licence essential and fork lift licence an advantage
