Production Team Leader

Production Team Leader (ProdLeader) Newton Aycliffe, England

Salary: GBP18000 - GBP24300 per annum

My client are an acknowledged leader in the design, development and production of a high stability range of pressure sensing products, that utilise a unique and proprietary thin film technology. Based in the North East of England and established in 1999, they have invested heavily to develop its own state of the art thin film production facility and in-house ASIC design technology. The environment is a clean, spacious factory with a small and friendly workforce.

Production Team Leader

Job Purpose:

As a Team Leader You will be working as part of a team of four Team Leaders working on a rotating shift pattern covering 24/7 working. You will be responsible for approximately 15 Production Operators, ensuring Production targets are met in all areas in accordance with business objectives and strategic plans.

Main duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. To lead your team to ensure all Production targets and quality standards are met across all processes whilst ensuring H&S guidelines are followed.
  2. To liaise with Production control to ensure a smooth workflow is achieved utilising Operators and equipment effectively to ensure the correct orders are shipped and on time, achieving Shift KPI’s.
  3. To collate and report daily output figures.
  4. Accurately complete all required shift documentation for compliance against IATF/ISO and site-specific quality standards.
  5. To release, track and close work orders.
  6. People Management responsibilities, including ensuring the Production Operation is covered during holidays and periods of absence.
  7. Ensure regular communication/briefing to provide the team with the relevant information to carry out their shift to maximum effect.
  8. Review team performance regularly to identify areas for improvement and                   encourage progress of individual team members through performance reviews.
  9. Manage, resolve and escalate day to day issues with quality, processes, equipment, materials, and team members.
  10. Responsible for stock and scrap control, ensuring targets are met.
  11. Contribute to the planning, organisation, operation and installation of all new processes and equipment within the factory.
