Systems Engineer

 Systems Engineer required for an initial six month assignment with a multi national defence client based in Bristol some experience with naval weapon systems would be an advantage. To provide dedicated technical and project management support within the Sea Ceptor Maritime Launcher System (MLS) team. The role covers technical support to the T26 MLS Team Lead in delivering the T26 MLS D&M phase, primarily the compliance aspects to the programme and working towards delivery and acceptance of the Sea Ceptor Launcher equipment on the Type 26 frigate. Role description: Forming an integral part of the Sea Ceptor T26 MLS Team in delivering the T26 Maritime Launcher System (MLS) D&M Phase contract. Reporting directly to T26 MLS Team Leader. • Primary responsibility will be delivering the compliance programme for the T26 MLS o Managing the Requirement Verification Modules for MLS Technical and Environmental requirements o Liaising with Systems team to manage non-compliances and requirement reviews o Ensuring the generation of required compliance evidence o Ensuring the application of lessons learnt from T23 MLS compliance programme o Generating and delivering the T26 MLS CofD • Manage emergent issues on T23 MLS design and subsequent compliance implications (including T26 read-across) • Support the ‘T26 MLS Team Leader’ in generating System documentation for the T26 programme • Support the T26 MLS Trials lead in the undertaking of MLS Qualification and Silo Constraint Trials for the T26 MLS • Work with BAE T26 Ship Authority to negotiate and define the MLS-Ship interfaces and mitigations for Human Factors envelope constraints
• Support the delivery of Design and Gate reviews for the T26 MLS
Supporting the ‘T26 MLS Team Leader’ in any additional Launcher and/or Export activities
