Accountabilities
- Ensure safe and timely completion of project.
- Ensure standards, specifications and procedures are followed in the execution of project.
- Ensure cost conscious estimation and that project is executed within the estimated time frame and cost.
- Ensure no damage to any or other operators’ assets and environment in the course of executing projects.
- Ensure effective and timely response to technical queries in compliance with set standards, company specifications and safety procedures. Ensure effective designs and engineering studies are produced by contractors.
Job Dimensions
- Technically manage and coordinate the Electrical Engineering activities.
- Carry out studies from FEED, Detailed & Installation Engineering activities by supervising FEED and EPCIC contractor(s) team of Electrical discipline engineers..
- Liaise routinely with other engineering disciplines as required, and with other Departments (Production , Procurement, etc.) as required
Activities
- Ensure and promote the application of HSE and Safety Engineering rules, and international Standards and project specifications.
- Ensure that contractors comply at all times with safety rules, taking actions as required in case of disregards.
- Promote safety culture within personnel and contractors and report anomalies.
- Carry out preliminary and basic facilities engineering studies / design in-house.
- Coordinate preparation of instrument design deliverables for ongoing flow lines hook up and other brownfield projects..
- Prepare requisitions for Instrumentation material procurement and perform technical bid evaluation.
- Define, specify and carry out necessary technical studies in order to propose robust and optimized technical solutions.
- Prepare support studies (scope of work, cost estimates and technical dossiers) for electrical related activities.
- Plan and organize the supervision of the offshore instrumentation survey campaigns to ensure technical compliance of the contractors with the Contract(s).
- Development of particular project guidelines and procedures.
- Lead the technical review of the bidders proposals and prepare technical recommendations accordingly.
- Check and approve instrumentation engineering deliverables received from Contractors for FEED and Detailed Engineering.
- Coordinate the review of Vendors deliverables, interpret facilities engineering drawings, designs and make necessary recommendations.
- Follow-up Purchase Orders of instrumentation equipment to ensure timely approval, conformity of design & participate in technical reviews and FAT with Vendors.
- Interact with Technical Safety, Process, Piping and Mechanical disciplines mainly and interface with Procurement.
- Plan and conduct KOM with contractors, JSA/work permits meetings in liaison with FO entity.
- Coordinate with FO entity for the integration of new instrumentation material in existing facilities and provide trouble shooting expertise in case of deficiencies of existing equipment.
- Report to Brownfield team regularly with weekly report and when decisions impacting E&C activities must be taken.
Qualification and Experience Required
- Minimum Qualification: B.Sc. in Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent with recognized expertise in the field of Instrumentation engineering of oil & gas facilities with minimum of 12 plus years of experience. Minimum of last 5 plus years of professional experience in Instrumentation design engineering activities for offshore upstream oil and gas industry in both brown and green field project environment.
- Good sense of team spirit, leadership, strong interpersonal & soft communication skills. Fluent in English both verbal and written.
