My financial services client based in London requires an Events Manager to join on a 12 months contract paying £300/day.

This role sits within this financial services client’s EMEA team. The role is mostly based in London, with some travel to Europe for events (experience of conducting events in Europe is highly beneficial).

Essential Experience:
1. Candidates with 5 – 7 yrs direct Event Management experience. Proven hands on experience
2. Direct experience with managing senior stakeholders
3. Proven experience in organising and running 3rd party conferences
4. Proven experience in organising and running proprietary events
5. Proven experience in organising and running Webinars


Primary Responsibilities:
• With limited guidance, plan, manage, and execute all elements of the organisation‘s hosted event projects in accordance with the standards of quality, excellence and cost control established for the company’s Corporate Events group.
• Serve as project lead for low to moderately complex events. This position requires frequent travel (once every month/2 months) and out of hours/weekend work when needed.
• Manage a diverse variety of business events, elements of which include, but are not limited to, agenda development, preparation and proofing of written/graphic materials, vendor/site research, contract negotiation, expense management, food and beverage selection, audio visual management, budget reconciliation, event analysis and statistics, including client engagement.
• Keep abreast of event industry trends, market climates and competitive activities, and recommend ways to leverage opportunities among colleagues. Demonstrate working knowledge of business.
• Work closely with the host of the project to develop the event profile (goal, responsibilities, budgets, timelines, etc.) scheduling the date of the event, securing venues, negotiating contracts, planning and coordinating the event and frequently providing on-site management of the event.
• Cultivate collaborative relationships with internal and external resources to support activities. Provide technical guidance, as needed.
• Adhere to policies and procedures and become familiar with company practices. May lead special projects/ initiatives for the function or business unit.
• Act with a clear sense of accountability supporting functional or business initiatives. Proactively identify obstacles and recommends solutions.
• No direct reports, may provide guidance to less experienced staff or project leadership on a limited basis.
• Manage to approved budget, submit expenses.
• Ability to engage with senior stakeholders, take a brief and put together an event proposal
• Good venue/ supplier knowledge across EMEA in order to recommend and book external venues
• Extensive use of Cvent or similar software to build registration microsites
• Extensive supplier management including, venue, catering, AV, stand builds, branded goods etc.

Qualifications & Experience
5-7 years of experience in meeting professional field, preferably financial services
