My online retail client is a unique and forward thinking company and understands the opportunities data and technology have on driving the business forward. Data and analytics is a key priority focus area and the Data Services domain is at the heart of driving new insights within the organisation.

They are looking for an outstanding Data Engineer to join us, and work on key projects provisioning reporting / dashboards and data repositories to provide an enterprise view of data to improve decision-making.

You will bring your design, development, delivery, and operational support experience to bear and deliver outstanding solutions. This is a great opportunity to work collaboratively alongside our existing team of talented Engineers and Architects.

What you’ll be doing:
• Responsible for the full life cycle development, implementation, production support, and performance tuning of the Data Warehouse, and Business Intelligence Reporting solutions.
• Working in an agile cross-functional team

Key Skills and Experience

Essential
Previous experience in a Data Engineering role:
• SQL Server Business Intelligence / Data Warehouse Development.
• SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) / ETL Development.
• Strong Experience with Data Warehouse (Kimball Methodology) design concepts and practices.
• An understanding of agile development practices, having worked successfully with agile delivery teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communications skills.
• Enterprise Business Intelligence tools - Power BI is essential
• Exposure to a programming/scripting language.
• Database unit-test and integration test experience with automated testing frameworks such as tSQLt, DBFit.

Nice to Have
• Exposure to the Microsoft Azure platform especially: Azure Data Factory (ADF); Azure Functions; SQL Database; Azure Cosmos DB; Azure Storage; Service Bus; Azure Data Warehouse (SQLDW); Event Hubs.
• Broad knowledge of the design and implementation of applications’ build, release, deployment, and configuration activities:
o Continuous Integration tools such as TeamCity, Jenkins
o Continuous Delivery and Release Management tools such as Octopus Deploy
o Source control tools such as Git and Team Foundation Version Control
• Experience in retail and/or e-commerce.
