Food and Beverage Buyer – Category Buyer

Salary: £34,000-38,000 basic

Location: Leicester, Nottingham, Lincoln, Newark, Derby, Chesterfield, Mansfield

The Opportunity:

Our client is a household name in the leisure and hospitality trade with locations nationwide. At their head office in Nottinghamshire they are now recruiting for an experienced Food, Beverage and consumables buyer.

The Role:

Reporting to the UK Purchasing Manager and working with the teams at head office this is an important role with in the procurement teams. You will manage and monitor our network of suppliers to optimise commercial terms, quality, range and service levels, ensuring that the supply base continually meets operational requirements. You will actively seek out cost reduction opportunities though never to the detriment of quality or service.  You will ensure that suppliers, product and service details are accurately recorded on the system, for ongoing ordering by operational colleagues.  The Purchasing team operate in a variety of supply markets from food and drink to capital goods to retail and operating items. 

Involved in leading the strategy to maximize potential for all F&B Products throughout the business.

Negotiate all commercial terms and conditions with external suppliers and communicate this throughout the business. Constantly monitor supplier performance throughout the business.

About You:
Experience in a buying or purchasing role buying food and beverage in a retail. Hospitality or leisure environment. 

You will have a proven track record and be able to provide evidence of your achievements.

It is important you can build and maintain good working relationships, influence suppliers and internal stakeholders, negotiate effectively and prioritize your responsibilities.  Strong analytical skills are vital.
