Power Systems Engineering Consultant

Power Systems Engineering Consultant (Job Code : JO013424) Melbourne, Australia

Salary: USD2500 - USD5000 per month

The role As a key member of our Power Systems team you will inspire, lead, assist and advise on a variety of Power Systems projects and tasks. Delivering programmes to budget and timescales, you can also expect to:  Experience a variety of projects for Distribution and Transmission networks, Renewable energy and integration of Renewables with the grid in some of the following key areas: Conceptual / Feasibility Study and Design, System Studies, Commissioning, Operation and Maintenance, Protection and Substation Design.  Play an integral role in our Power Systems business development activities  Work with the senior management and our business development team to utilise your network of contacts and our own client base to regularly meet and further develop our relationships with current and prospective clients  Network at all levels within RINA, client organisations and other external bodies  Interact and present at industry conferences, seminars and networking events  Support management to achieve the goals of the team and support our staff to help them achieve their potential Qualifications & experience  Experience in Australian Power Systems Engineering environment – experience with Renewable energy projects would be an added value.  A thorough understanding of Power Systems theory  A Degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant technical discipline, post graduate qualifications would be highly regarded  Ideally Chartered Engineer status or equivalent  Proficiency with modern simulation software and electrical circuit modelling tools e.g PSS/E, DigSILENT Powerfactory, ETAP, etc  Good track record of performing both static and dynamic power system studies  Good understanding of the Transmission and Distribution grids around the world, grid codes and industry accepted practices. Deep knowledge of Australian grids will be highly regarded.  Previous exposure and proven track record in business development activities and consulting  Team/technical leadership experience
