Linux Administrator

Experis IT is seeking a highly capable Linux Administrator for a contract to hire opportunity for a premiere client in Irvine, CA.
Experience:

• 3 years administration experience in a Linux environment supporting high volume web sites


• Experience with RedHat Enterprise or CentOS operating systems


• Experience with Apache/Tomcat in a production environments

Skills:

• Citrix Xen Server virtualization experience in a production environment


• Experience with highly available MySQL database configurations


• Experience with Nagios and Splunk associated monitoring tools


• Experience with Puppet and associated configuration management tools

Additional Responsibilities:

• Apply systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications


• Research and apply available security patches to all systems


• Provide daily administrative support on all Linux systems


• Provide daily administrative support for networking equipment used to deliver Linux based applications


• Maintain existing and develop new operational procedures to increase application availability


• Maintain existing and develop new backup strategies to ensure data availability


• Maintain and extend monitoring and alerting frameworks


• Maintain and extend configuration management procedures and applications


• On-call support 24x7x365 operational needs including after hours

Education:

• BA/BS Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience


• RHCE certification preferred
