Service Delivery Engineer (RL8412) York, England

Castle in York have an exciting opportunity for a Service Delivery Engineer to join our clients expanding team based in York.
The duties for this Service Delivery Engineer will be;
- Manage service delivery, events, incidents and problems in an organised, methodical and timely manner
- Conduct and record full and thorough diagnostics to enable resolution within SLA (Service Level Agreements)
- Escalate to relevant internal or external teams as appropriate to enable resolution within SLA
- Identify and escalate repeat issues or service risks into service management teams
- Manage a number of scheduled tasks to ensure maximum operational efficiency, with a high level of quality and due care
- Complete process, service completion / handover documentation, as required
- Out or hours and scheduled on-call work is to be processed at the same high standards
- Maintain and develop your own knowledge and skills
- Build effective relationships within the organisation to ensure best service for our customers
- Other duties as and when required of the business needs
The ideal candidate will have the following requirements;
- You must be able to demonstrate a high degree of technical knowledge of network topology including LAN / WAN / VLAN principles
- Have an understanding of leased line, copper and fibre broadband
- Have experience working with router and Firewall technology
- Have experience and working knowledge of CISCO switches
- Having a Full UK Driving Licence is essential
Having the following qualities is desirable
- Experience using Voice over IP (VoIP)
- Having an understanding of Core IP, transit and access layer
- An understanding of GPON, SLU, LLU
- Hosted solutions, AWS
- Having experience working with Cisco and Juniper
This is a full time, permanent position working Monday to Friday 9am-5pm with a 1-hour lunch break. You will also be added to the on-call rota, based on a 1-week-in-4 basis, which an additional allowance is paid. This will be earning a salary of £22,000 - £26,000 depending on your experience.
