Head of School - Primary - September 2018 start date

Castle Education are working alongside a federation of school's to appoint a permanent Head of School in one of their Primary school's for a September 2018 start. The primary school is a small, happy, village school on the outskirts of York and currently school's around 60 pupils. It was graded "Good" in it's most recent Ofsted.

The school is part of an existing federation of 4 school's and is overseen by the Executive Headteacher and the successful candidate will benefit from the fantastic support system already in place across the federation. This role will be ideal for someone with senior leadership potential or someone with senior leadership experience looking for their first headship position

The ideal candidate will be an outstanding practitioner with a passion for developing teaching and learning and must have a strong commitment to inclusive values, excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to strengthen partnerships,and an ambition to make a difference to the lives of the pupils within the school.

You must possess the following attributes to be considered :-

> Qualified Teacher status ( as recognised by the Department for Education)

> Successful completion of significant additional study relating directly to the education of primary aged pupils and/or the management and organisation of a school

> participation in recent, relevant in service training.

The main purpose of the job will include:-

> Will be based at the Primary school but will work for the federation and you may be required to work at any of the schools within the federation at any time as directed by the Executive Headteacher

> Will have class teaching responsibility (0.5fte) and strategic leadership of a core curriculum area within the school

> Provide leadership for the school, which secures it's success and continuous improvement, ensuring high quality education and the highest standards of learning, achievement and behaviour

> Lead and manage the school on a day to day basis and is the first point of call for all stakeholders and external agencies in matters relating to the school.
