Our client, a leading global technology business, is looking to appoint an experienced Head of HR to be based in Leeds.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and delivery of the people plan for the business, and providing a professional, legally sound, timely and best practice advice service to managers and employees. The role will be responsible for line managing a small team, which includes HR Advisors and a Recruitment Advisor.  The team are all based out of the Leeds office.

This is a comprehensive senior level Generalist HR role encompassing both strategic and a hands-on element, that will ultimately take the lead for all HR issues, strongly linked to commercial goals within the business.  This will include issues relating to recruitment, induction, retention, talent management, succession planning, performance management, discipline, grievance, attendance, redundancy, maternity, paternity, exit interviews, training and development.  The Head of HR will work closely with, building relationships and supporting, the Senior Management Team (SMT) as a partner.  Building the leadership capability of the management team, as well as ensuring talent is effectively managed through resourcing and succession planning, will be a pivotal part of the role.  Management development of new and existing managers will also play a key role.

Recently, a large amount of recruitment has taken place, and recruitment will be ongoing.  Several key projects will also be ongoing including embedding a performance culture, career development and talent management, and the role will be responsible for the continued review, development and implementation of policies and procedures and people strategies.    

The ideal candidate for this role will need to be a dynamic and commercially focused individual, ideally from within the Technology / Software sector or very similar, with SME HR experience gained at a senior level covering the full generalist remit.  The right candidate will have experience of dealing with a variety of stakeholders in a growing and dynamic setting.  Additionally, they will be a strong communicator with credibility and gravitas.  A seasoned HR Generalist with a deep understanding of ER issues and HR strategy linked to the wider commercial picture.
