Our client is a publicly listed company on the London Stock Exchange’s AIM market. Through recent development and continued growth it will become a global leader in it's field. The business is Headquartered in North Yorkshire with a London office.

Reporting to the External Affairs Director, this role will involve working closely with the wider External Affairs team, the CEO, CFO and Investor Relations Manager. The purpose of this role is to proactively manage internal and external corporate communications for the business.

This is a senior role that requires excellent management of relationships, both internal and external, alongside the ability to produce high quality, accurate written materials which continue to enhance the corporate reputation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify, build and manage positive working relationships with key media contacts at national, local, regional and trade levels

  • Manage the Company’s press office function to enable proactive communication whilst ensuring provision for reactive work

  • React and provide a lead on corporate communication response to any adverse situations that might occur

  • Draft regular stock market announcements and messaging, including management of the regulatory approval process

  • Draft content and messaging for typical financial reporting associated with a main market listed business

  • Management of existing website, including responsibility for ensuring its content is updated and remains accurate. Responsibility for production of ongoing and new content, both written and digital

  • Management responsibility for external consultants, ensuring that expectations are clear and delivery targets are closely monitored/in line with budgetary requirements

  • Produce internal communication material, reflecting the corporate values, to ensure that a large and growing team of both permanent staff and key contractors are up to date with progress and aware of key messages from the Senior Management team

  • Work closely with the wider External Affairs team to ensure that they are aware of media attention in the local area/ensuring they are aware of proactive media work being produced in the local area

  • Production of well-structured business plans for use of consultants

  • Management responsibility for small but growing corporate communications team

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Experience of working in a corporate environment

  • Knowledge of a typical corporate press office function and/or experience of working with print and broadcast media

  • Honours degree or equivalent

  • Professional qualification or post-graduate award advantageous, but not essential

  • Thorough use of standard Microsoft Office software, including use of PowerPoint

  • Understanding of and complete commitment to the Company’s safety culture

  • Ability to operate with the up most confidentially, ideally with knowledge and understanding of the market insider processes and the Market Abuse Regulations

  • Excellent written skills

  • Excellent communications skills

  • Ability to work proactively with diverse range of both internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to manage internal and external teams

  • Strong desire to take responsibility for work stream delivery, pushing for the highest standards at all time
