.Net Developer – Applications Engineering (009305) Canton, Ohio

In this .Net Developer position with Diebold, you will serve as a Manufacturing Systems Application (MSA) Engineer supporting the Diebold Engineering Excellence program by enhancing Business Intelligence capabilities through web based report writing and Dashboard development for the manufacturing arenas of our New Product Development Centers of Excellence. This position will work closely with the Global Research & Development organization for tracking New Product Development processes; as well as with the Global Supply Chain organization during vendor procurement.
In this role, you will be responsible for Applications Development for Manufactured Part/Module Tracking and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). You will be supporting two critical software areas within our manufacturing domain: (1) application development and support with an emphasis on web based data analysis/reporting; and (2) database support, maintenance, performance tuning & monitoring across all Diebold global manufacturing sites.
You will be asked to provide a focused effort on improving Diebold mission critical web-based applications and SQL databases in place at multiple global manufacturing and third party manufacturing locations, which are used to support both MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) and reporting capabilities.
Some essential functions of this position include:
  • Support of the Diebold Engineering Excellence program which focuses on establishing Diebold North America as a center of excellence for specific technical arenas
  • Application development and support on web based Manufacturing Systems Applications (MSA)
  • Web based report writing and Dashboard development with a focus on enhancing Business Intelligence capabilities
  • Data collection, tracking, aggregation and reporting (Data Warehouse)
  • Improve the performance, reliability and security of all Diebold mission critical SQL databases in place at multiple global manufacturing locations
  • Develop and create new database structures based on engineering requirements
  • Effectively design, develop and implement database system architecture
  • Assist with roadmap and strategic development efforts for both MES and MSA applications and systems
  • Level 2 technical support for Diebold manufacturing sites
  • Potential to travel domestically or internationally (Hungary, China, Brazil or India) up to 10%
  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field
  • Must possess strong skills in MS Visual Studio 2008/2010 development (VB.net or C#, JavaScript, ASP.net)
  • Must possess strong skills in MS SQL 2008/2010 .Net development
  • Experience with MS SQL Reporting Services 2008
  • Access database development experience
  • Strong Dashboard development skills, preferably using Dundas Data Visualization software tools
Conceptual understanding of the following:
  • Virtual Machine (VM) SQL Server Performance within a VMware infrastructure
  • Source Code Control concepts
  • Data replication, data quality/integrity and data processing methodologies
  • Data mining and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Experience in any of the following is a plus:
  • Mixed technology environment within a geographically dispersed company
  • Working within a manufacturing environment
  • Programming with XML, C, C#, VB, .ASP, AJAX, CSS, HTML and HTML5
  • InfoPath, Visio, Report Builder, Silverlight, XAML, & Web Services
  • MS SharePoint and Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) programming
  • Oracle and Oracle Discover reporting
  • Project Management principles and techniques
