Sr. Technology Manager, Connected Devices (Fox Networks Engineering & Operations / Digital, Playa Vista, CA)

This role oversees vendors and outside consultants and coordinates closely with internal stakeholders in the development and ongoing maintenance of FOX Networks Group's online video initiatives across multiple device types and platforms.

The Sr. Technology Manager, Connected Devices manages vendor development teams in the implementation of console, Smart TV and Over-the-Top Set-Top Box video experiences and related platforms. This role is expected to understand application development, online/mobile video, advertising, analytics and systems architecture as well as run meetings and work with product owners to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Oversees new and ongoing development and maintenance for connected device applications across multiple device platforms
• Manages multiple teams of developers from different agencies
• Architects scalable data-driven application frameworks and solutions
• Works closely with product stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical requirements for implementation teams
• Works with complex video and content feed structures and formats
• Provides technical specifications and documentation
• Performs code reviews

Qualifications:

• 2-3 years in software development project management preferably web and mobile application
• 1-3 years hands-on software development experience
• 1-2 years experience with online video
• Experience integrating a large number of third-party services into consumer applications
• Demonstrable proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming principles and one or more of the following languages: Objective-C, Java, JavaScript, PHP
• Experience with a variety of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to collaborate closely with product managers, business clients, engineers, vendors and agencies
• Excellent organization, time management, and project management skills
• Troubleshooting/problem solving skills are a must
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to multi-task across different clients and requirements
• Superb attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and be proactive
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science a plus
