We are currently looking for a Planner for one of our client ( Oil and Gas Industry )

Duration                      :           2 years fixed term contract

Work Location            :           Ras Laffan

Work Status                :           Resident

Type of Assignment    :           Contracted  (contracted through MPH to work for the company)

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and schedule maintenance work orders and coordinate manpower, materials and all other resources for maintenance programs, turnaround and shutdown activities for COMPANY’s Ras Laffan plant and facilities.
  • Liaise with engineers and superintendents in the maintenance section to determine manpower, material and other requirements of work orders and schedules work orders as per the resource availabilities.
  • Plan material requirements and other resource requirements for various maintenance and inspection programs and turnaround/shutdown activities to ensure the availability of the required materials (stock and non-stock items) and support the timely execution of planned major maintenance activities.
  • Conduct file verifications to prepare shutdown plans for the concerned production area(s), as well as monitoring the shutdown job scope in order to be able to establish step-by-step job planning and resource requirements and details of the job.
  • Assist Planning Engineer in planning and preparation of turnaround/shutdown activities, in addition to coordinating with applicable maintenance and operations units for appropriate planning of jobs/tasks during shutdown.

Minimum Educational Requirements / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in maintenance and inspections (including planning) in Oil & Gas including at least 2 years in positions of progressively increasing supervisory responsibilities.

Skills and Competencies:      

  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Good analytical and judgmental skills.   
  • Good planner / organizer.         
  • Team player.    
  • Clear / logical thinker.   
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English.        
  • Knowledge of Arabic and experience in working in the Gulf Area is an advantage.
  • PC skills.          
  • Availability and flexibility to work in different places is an added advantage.
