Role Overview
Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, this Financial Accountant will be responsible for the financial accounting, reporting and consolidation for several funds within their portfolio as you will be managing the investment portfolios with key stakeholder groups. Specifically, this will include responsibility for month end reporting including P&L generation as you will post journals and balance sheet reconciliations, complete all year end activities that includes the preparation of the fund financial statements.
You will be managing the overall function of audits, both internal and external and at times maybe required to assist with the organisations superannuation portfolio so experience with this type of industry accounting is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
In order to be successful for this role, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Exposure to a portfolio of investments and accounting for investments within a fund.
- Preparing month end and financial reports
- Group consolidations
- Assist with the audit process
- Statutory accounting and reporting
- Historical data analysis
Candidate Profile
You are recently qualified or working towards completing your CA or CPA. You feel comfortable with the end to end preparation of the year-end financial statements for funds or have been in a position in accounting for Private Clients who have a large asset base. You may have been in a more senior position however are comfortable in being in a hands on role to seize an opportunity for an employer of choice. Your verbal and written communication skills are one of your strengths and you feel confident navigating data in Excel.
