Role Overview
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this Financial Accountant will be responsible for all month end related duties including journal posting, general ledger and bank reconciliations, accruals and prepayments, as well as assisting in management commentaries. Furthermore, a large part of your role will involve assisting in month-end reporting. In addition to this, you will assist in performance and variance analysis, as well as compliance issues relating to taxation obligations. This Financial Accountant will also be involved in the preparation of key stakeholder reports and you will have the opportunity to participate in team ad-hoc projects.
As this role develops, you will have the opportunity to progress within the business and be involved in more complex finance and business issues. Therefore, the successful Assistant Financial Accountant will be career focussed and hungry for success.


Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Monthly Reporting & Analysis
• Prepare Monthly Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss Statements
• Monthly Accruals, Depreciation, Prepayment, Intercompany transactions and Journal Entries
• Monthly Management Reporting Pack including Dashboard and various sales analysis
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations
• Assisting in the preparation and completion of half yearly and annual statutory accounts
• Assist External and Internal Audit process
• Preparation of FBT
• Monthly Variance Analysis
• Payroll Tax Lodgement
• Ad Hoc duties
• Develop and maintain a progressive/positive working relationship within the workplace

Candidate Profile
You will be degree qualified in Accounting and studying towards or a qualified CA/CPA. You will have previous accounting or audit experience within a large organisation, preferably with systems knowledge in SAP. Strong working knowledge and experience of MS Excel is critical. You will benefit from being analytical and enjoy solving complex problems. This position is for the highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic as well as a good team player. Excellent verbal and written skills are an absolute must.
