Are you an experienced Cover Supervisor/ Cover Teacher within the Education Sector?

Castle Education are looking for experienced Cover Supervisors/Cover Teachers to work on a daily basis, within local Secondary Schools across the East Riding Area.

Castle are looking for Cover Supervisors to work on both a temporary and long term basis between the hours of 8.00am - 3.30pm

Whether you can offer us one day or five days of your time per week, we would love to speak with you!

Previous experience of working with children is essential – Whether it’s teaching within schools or summer camps, afterschool clubs and activities? Maybe you are a recently graduated NQT, a retired ex-teacher or an education professional? Perhaps even experienced with a police or military background, looking to inspire and educate children further.

As a cover supervisor your role is to:

• Supervise the pupils and deliver pre-planned work
• Managing a classroom within mainstream secondary schools
• Ensuring students are on task and motivated
• Covering a range of subjects in the regular teacher’s short-term absence
• Ensuring student progression with work
• Facilitating learners in the classroom

Qualifications needed:

Although possessing an honours degree would be preferable, Cover Supervisors / Cover Teachers do not need an official qualification to be able to work in a school. The minimum requirement is possessing GCSE qualifications, including English and Maths.  However, you need to be a strong character for this role, be resilient, personable, engaging and have a good sense of humour. Classroom Management is essential.

You will be required to have excellent communication skills, be highly flexible, organised and confident.
