Our client, a dynamic and fast-growing e-commerce company based on the outskirts of Gloucester are seeking a skilled Application/System Support Specialist. This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates with some experience from within a 1st or 2nd line IT support role, ideally from within a large multi-site company, who is looking to progress their career within a company that will offer training and development as well as excellent career progression prospects for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to solve IT support issues related to systems and to create and update documentation and training materials related to IT systems. As part of the role you will need to be able to investigate, diagnose and resolve faults or problems from internal and external stakeholders to a high standard. Further duties entail:
• Coordinating with Support and Development teams and 3rd party vendors
• Pro-active maintenance and extensive knowledge of relevant IT technologies, software products, information security best practices, Equas products and Equas services
• Communicating IT roadmaps and Systems testing
• Managing file sharing, data access and management
• Configuring authentication and authorisation services for remote devices
• Disaster recovery, fault tolerance and high availability
• Defining network infrastructures and network security
• Setting up/configuring new Activ systems
We’ll be looking for candidates with experience from within 1st or 2nd line support in the use of software applications. You’ll need to have a solid understanding of software systems and basic architecture principles as well as a basic understanding of database systems and database design, SQL, management and report writing. An understanding of cloud principles or experience of software testing or of working with network services would be of advantage.
