Senior Business Intelligence Developer (BBBH650) Wheat Ridge, Colorado

The Senior Business Intelligence developer plays an integral role in the Reporting & Analytics group by providing the expertise required to build and grow a robust data warehouse environment.

Required Skills and Experience

� Accountable for the scoping and delivery of high quality, customer-friendly BI solutions, as evidenced by taking ownership of data quality, report quality and customer satisfaction.

� Responsible for proactively identifying opportunities for BI to improve customer focus, system thinking and quality (data and functionality). Can readily identify efficient and effective options for new solutions

� SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) Expert

� Significant experience in developing, supporting and documenting ETL SSIS packages

� SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) Expert

� Administration and management of SSRS environment

� Report development and deployment experience

� Development of data mart models, multidimensional cubes, design specifications and metadata documentation

Duties and Responsibilities

� Develops T-SQL stored procedures, functions, views, tables and other database objects as defined by business partner requirements and reporting management to support reporting and analytics.

� Develops complex reporting and/or database objects utilizing SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Server Information Services (SSIS) and SQL stored procedures/queries

� Develops ETL packages to support automation of existing manual processes utilizing SSIS

� Partners with business managers, systems analysts, and financial analysts to lead projects concerning complex data manipulation, analysis and reporting.

� Identifies data requirements around specific project, data or report requests. This includes mapping and definition, along with detailed requirements documentation.

� Identifies and defines improvements to existing reporting data sources.

� Identifies and researches data issues and works with business partners to identify areas for improvement

� Manages report development projects and works with business partners to create a reporting strategy that will support business decisions.

� Manages ACM (Application Change Management) process for additions, modifications or deletions to data warehouse environment.

� Participate in meetings and regular planning, design and code reviews

� Must be highly motivated, a quick learner and possess the ability to work independently or on a team driving solutions with minimal supervision

� Ability to juggle multiple priority projects and strict deadlines


Bachelor’s degree required in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics or Finance.


Candidate must possess a minimum of 5-8 years experience programming in T-SQL (Microsoft SQL Server) environment. In addition, candidate should possess a minimum of three years experience building and managing a SQL Server Reporting Services environment.

Technical and Systems Experience

� Microsoft SQL Server (2000, 2005 and 2008 R2) Management Studio, SSRS, SSAS and SSIS

� Experience with SQL (T-SQL, P-SQL, DB2/UDB SQL) coding.

� Experience in scripting (VBScript, Jscript, etc.) is a plus.
