Position:          Compensation and Benefits Administrator-1yr Contract

Reports to:      Manager, Compensation, Benefits and HR Systems & Processes
 

 

SUMMARY             

                         

The Compensation and Benefits Specialist is responsible for supporting the Manager, Compensation, Benefits and HR Systems & Processes with the design and development of a wide variety of North American and International compensation, benefits and pension policies and programs for Securit and its divisions.

 

Working in partnership with the Compensation and Benefits Coordinator, the incumbent provides input to procedures and guidelines for the launch and ongoing implementation of the organization�s compensation, benefits and pension programs and policies.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES
 

�         Conduct cost and participation analysis of compensation, benefits and pension programs, globally, and prepare management reports.

�         Prepare input to global compensation, benefits and pension and work experience market surveys; conduct analysis of survey results and assist the Manager, Compensation, Benefits and HR Systems & Processes with the development of recommendations (e.g., annual merit increase matrices, salary range structure movement, etc).

�         Conduct adhoc market surveys and prepare management reports

�         Prepare compliance reports for pension and benefit plans, globally

�         Provide analytical support for periodic market reviews of benefit programs, including  analysis of current offering versus market trends and associate needs, costing of potential plan changes, vendor selection, documentation of recommendations and financial impact for executive approval

�         For new and revised compensation, benefit, pension and work experience policies, programs and guidelines:

o   Research current market practices and trends

o   Perform cost-benefit analysis

o   Assist with the implementation/ launch

�         Support the Manager, Compensation, Benefits and HR Systems & Processes with job design, position description documentation, and job evaluations for new and updated positions.

�         Prepare presentation materials for the Executive Compensation and Benefits Committee where key decisions are made regarding compensation, benefits, pension and work experience policies and programs.

�         Maintain external contacts and attend conferences, seminars etc., as deemed prudent for personal development and remaining informed with respect to market realities

 

Specific annual projects where assistance/support will be required:

 

�         Annual Compensation Planning process

oResearch salary range movement

oResearch base salary budget movement

oResearch other cash compensation items that may need updating

�         Annual Bonus Framework Review for Field and Support Centre bonus-eligible roles (link to Performance Agreement process)

�         Annual review of 3rd party benefits globally, including analysis of cost, utilization, and participation (e.g., health, dental & vision)

oMeetings with brokers and vendors to review experience, trends

oAnalysis/costing of potential plan changes

oDocumenting plan change recommendations and financial impact for executive approval

�         Other projects as identified throughout the year (i.e. due diligence review for acquisitions, adhoc functional/ regional market reviews, etc�)

      

 

PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS

 

Education

Undergraduate degree in Business or Human Resources
�         Specialized HR training (e.g., post graduate HR college program) and/or HR certification (e.g., CHRP, PHR, CBP, CEBS)

 

Experience

2 � 4 years compensation, benefits, or pension experience required
At least another 2 years other HR experience (e.g., HR administration, HR generalist, recruitment, etc.)
 

Skills and Knowledge

�         Superior analytical, research, and problem solving skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)
Strong organizational skills; demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize
�         Strong customer service skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word
HR systems, preferably SAP Human Capital Management
Second language an asset (e.g., French or German)
