Under the direction of and working together with the Global Training and Competency Manager PCP & COROD, the  Sr. Training Specialist is responsible for all aspects of Instructional System Design and training administration to accomplish the training and competency objectives and goals defined to support the COROD Product Line business growth.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  •     Provide input to and lead the development of technical competency standards
  •     Assist in the development and implementation of tools and methods to assess the competency level of new and current employees 
  •     Work with COROD technical specialists and subject matter experts to develop training materials, educational aids and learning evaluation tools
  •     Provide input on the most appropriate learning methodologies and tools which will best achieve the stated learning objectives such as in classroom courses, computer assisted (online), on-the-job, coaching, mentoring, etc
  •     Schedule and coordinate COROD training activities. Provide support to COROD training activities coordinated by the Canada Region. This includes aspects such as venues, orientation to participants, distribution of materials, etc
  •     Ensure competency standards and training materials are current and complete, as required
  •     Demonstrate consistently a commitment to follow safety policies and procedures and to proactively identify and minimize risks in the work environment
  •     Contribute to improving the performance of the team and create a collaborative and positive work environment. Fosters good working relationships and gains credibility through superior performance
  •     You will demonstrate a high energy level, a positive attitude, and a genuine commitment to exemplary customer service; able to meet tight deadlines, willing and able to be involved in various projects at the same time
  •     Track and maintain accurate records of training activities, as required
  •     Other duties and responsibilities as required


  •     Post secondary technical education
  •     5 years of relevant experience; O&G preferred
  •     Adult learning diploma or degree; or at least 3 - 5 years of hands on experience in preparation and/or coordination of training technical programs for adults
  •     Safety oriented
  •     Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  •     Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word and PowerPoint)
  •     Successful completion of a pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol test
