The person in this position is required to perform a variety of minor general building maintenance and repair work; or, in a non-supervisory capacity, performs such work where the independence of action necessary and the difficulty of the operations exceed that normally expected of the General Maintenance Worker class.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES  (not listed in any particular order)

  •     Carpentry: makes and installs shelves, cabinets, and chair rails; hangs pictures and bulletin boards; repairs poorly fitting doors, windows, or drawers; repairs wood flooring
  •     Electrical: replaces broken or defective light switches, sockets, outlets, bulbs, fixtures, fluorescent tubes, and starters; does minor rewiring; installs electrical outlets and light and florescent fixtures
  •     Masonry: patches broken asphalt and concrete and plaster surfaces; replaces loose bricks or ceramic tile
  •     Painting: paints shelves, cabinets, and furniture; does maintenance painting on interior and exterior of buildings; paints motors and other mechanical equipment
  •     Plumbing: replaces or repairs defective flush valves, faucet and toilet washers and packing; stops leaks in joints by tightening; replaces short lengths of pipe; cleans clogged pipe lines using snake, force cup, or chemicals, installs plumbing fixtures, and water and sewage lines
  •     Mechanical: replaces or adjusts drive belts; maintains and adjusts motors, pumps, and compressors; does minor maintenance and adjustments on heating, cooling, or ventilating systems; electrical appliances
  •     Miscellaneous: replaces glass in windows, doors, and partitions; does minor sheet metal work; makes minor roof repairs; sharpens saws and power tool bits and blades, does grounds and garden maintenance
  •     Review larger projects, present options, quote to outside vendors as required
  •     Coordinate crane repairs and inspections with inspection company
  •     Coordinate forklift repairs and servicing as required
  •     Supervise outside vendor work record work hours and quality of workmanship
  •     Approve vendor work invoices prior to payment
  •     Supports Lean manufacturing work centre improvements, shadow boards, tool benches, cleaning centres
  •     Inspect buildings to ensure safety and to determine need for repair or maintenance (fire extinguishers, smoke alarm batteries, alarms)
  •     Keep maintenance records for all manufacturing related equipment and files containing product manuals etc.
  •     Responsible for all scheduled maintenance work and ordering supplies and materials through the    purchasing group whenever possible
  •     May supervisor summer students, part time helper in general building maintenance work
  •      May drive automotive equipment in performance of duties
  •     Look for and identify opportunities for continuous improvement throughout your tasks and processes, as well as other work in the facility in general
  •     Interacts with Operations Manager and management team on plant issues related to facility and maintenance improvements
  •     Meeting deadlines as required.
  •     Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level
  •     Know and understand Weatherfords Enterprise of Excellence Program and the Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Management Systems Manual, Operating and Technical procedures and workplace instructions
  •     Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford

  •     Participate in the required training programs and providing feedback on quality, safety, security, and environmental issues to management

  •     Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job

Person who has a trade certificate (carpentry, electrician, welding, mechanical, etc)

    Grade 12 diploma
    2-3 years of experience in maintenance work within a manufacturing facility

Experience in PC Pump and drive manufacturing processes
