DUTIES
• Works closely with Production & Inventory Manager to execute production schedule at plant level
• Schedules plant production
• Monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle and completes daily tasks as they relate to order fulfillment, production scheduling, and finished inventory
• Oversees the completion of daily administrative tasks including shipping reports, finished inventory reports, order tracking, transfer orders, updating files and databases, and tracking inventory locations
• Coordinates local and international shipments
• Ensures that all customs requirements are met for international shipments
• Handles customer service issues
• Actively participates in company quality, safety and environmental procedures and programs and assists in providing solutions and recommendations for continuous improvement
• Performs various other duties and activities as assigned by the supervisor within the physical constraints of the job
Ability to work flexible schedule: i.e.8 and 6 ten hour day shifts
SKILLS
- Ideal candidate would possess production planning / scheduling experience.
- individuals with logistics and supervisors in a manufacturing setting would also be considered (knowledge of operations and inventory management experience is essential)
- Experience using Microsoft Office software is required
- Must be able to work independently and handle multiple tasks and projects
- Excellent organization and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of imports and exports, international freight forwarding, and customs brokerage is preferred
- Customer service skills and prior sales experience would be an asset
- Previous experience using J.D. Edwards software would be a benefit
- Post-secondary education or minimum Grade 12 is preferred
