Weatherford is actively recruiting for an Secure Drilling Services (SDS) Engineer to work out of our downtown office.  With minimal supervision, the Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to all activities related to Secure Drilling Services (SDS) within the region.
Primary Responsibilities

  •     Managing all aspects of project preparation and proposals for common SDS wells
  •     Responsible for ensuring Weatherford best practices are adhered to in all drilling proposals and programs
  •     Well site engineering on all regional well types
  •     Preparation and delivery of technical presentation/reports of complex SDS topic/projects
  •     Complex flow modeling
  •     Mobile and willing to work irregular hours in a field environment, on call duties as required
  •     Active role in assisting Sales group with client meetings, presentations, and technical support
  •     Providing support to junior engineers


  •     Position requires an accredited Engineering degree or a diploma/certificate in Engineering Technology (Mechanical, Chemical or Petroleum preferred)
  •     New grads with prior experience in the Oil and Gas Industry preferred
  •     Experience working with Wellflow programming considered an asset
  •     Proven English language communication skills required (both oral and written)
  •     Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
  •     Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  •     Professional manner with a positive customer service attitude
  •     Excellent problem solving skills
  •     Ability to manage multiple projects with a positive attitude
  •     Proven time and project management skills
