The QA Discipline Leader is responsible for establishing a cohesive and consistent software test practice across the range of R&D software products to enable a quantifiable product delivery.

As QA Discipline Lead you will be responsible for developing and implementing an enterprise wide test strategy that starts at requirements gathering all the way through to product obsolescence. The strategy must be right sized and fit for purpose based on product risk/liability and customer expectation.  The strategy will focus on internal practices but will also address automated test processes and turnkey resources

Your charter is investigating and quantifies the QA parameters that are important to the business. To develop a comprehensive strategy to address QA on all project and to collaborate with project  to ensure that the projects are adequately staffed and trained to execute the strategy. In addition you will be responsible for setting up turn key test resources and standardizing their interfaces

Technical Responsibilities

  •     Provide QA direction to ensure adequate and quantifiable testing is performed
  •     Develop a comprehensive suite of testing methods that encompasses testing tools
  •     Develop a long test vision for QA and standards of practice
  •     Oversee the development of a test discipline, extend and coach existing team to meet that vision
  •     Insure appropriate resources (hardware, software) are available to meet the QA team's vision
  •     Insure automation of repetitive tasks
  •     Develop turn-key solutions to testing


 Specific Requirements (Technical Knowledge, Software, Etc.)

  •     Experience performance managing a staff of QA Analysts, Engineers, and Managers
  •     Experience for determining feasibility of and execution of outsourced/offshore solutions
  •     Experience with functional testing and automation using open source test suites
  •     Experience managing Engineers/Developers for creation of test suites
  •     Experience managing Analysts for creation of test plans and requirements
  •     Experience with "Industry Standard" functional testing and automation tools
  •     Experience delivering measurable improvements in testing efficiency and effectiveness
  •     Strong track record of direct to consumer product delivery

Education
    10+ years as a software development professional
    5+ years in complex software projects managing QA responsibilities
