GEIS System Consultant - Master Data Management (LEX00866) Dayton, Ohio

This GEIS Systems Consultant position in the Enterprise Data Services department will provide a blend of Technical and Functional expertise for the development, maintenance and ongoing support of an Informatica-based Customer Master Data Manager (MDM) and related DataStage/QualityStage deployment.  This role specifically works as the key technical Enterprise Customer Master (ECM) asset in collaboration with our engineering teams and the LexisNexis community to provide enterprise and system level consulting on business analysis, software design and development efforts. The individual in this role partners with business units and the Business Consultants team to communicate and clarify business needs, contribute to development of long-range systems plans and architecture, assists in requirements elaboration, and ensures products and services are aligned and implemented to meet business needs.  It is also expected that this role may be required to participate minimally in hands-on development or configuration work, specifically when it comes to assisting with high severity incident reports or time-critical project deadlines.  Incumbents will conduct business process analysis, needs assessments, and preliminary cost-benefit analysis. They also review estimates and designs for new development to ensure compliance with architectural standards.
General Accountabilities
1.     Acts as the primary contact between the vendor engineering teams and LexisNexis, answers questions from vendor(s)
2.     Collaborates with vendor engineering teams to prepare estimates, develop schedules, and implement requirements to meet deadlines
3.     Acts in a Business Relationship Management capacity with functional business units to meet their business system needs
4.     Actively builds, maintains, and utilizes an extensive network across the company
5.     Drives execution by aligning communication, people, processes, and systems to ensure effective implementation and delivery of required results
6.     Manages system and user acceptance testing cycles to ensure accurate and quality business solutions
7.     Escalates and prioritizes incidents pertaining to critical systems issues
8.     Escalates broader scale decisions to appropriate managers or points-of-contact
9.     Reviews impact analysis, design and test plans prepared by the vendor engineering teams 
Technical Accountabilities
1.     Provides technical domain expertise within the scope of Master Data Management (Informatica/DataStage)
2.     As the authoritative technical resource is responsible for ensuring architecture guidelines are implemented to optimize total cost of ownership
3.     Coordinates multi-system solutions to clarify interdependencies so that such systems appear seamless to customer
4.     Assists with the development of and at all times ensures adherence to enterprise technical and architectural standards and processes
5.     Creates and maintain configuration and design standards
6.     Represents team in technical discussions with other teams or departments
7.     Thinks and acts at the enterprise level when engaging in day to day duties; professionally contends with our onshore and offshore partners to ensure robust, high quality solutions

1.     8+ years experience in all phases of IT system development Life Cycle is required
2.     Requires a Bachelors degree in Business, Computer Science or a related major; or related experience is required
3.     Relational database management system design and implementation experience of 2 or more years is required
4.     Outstanding communication, conflict management and negotiation skills are required
5.     Proven ability to work independently and lead teams consisting of both employees and vendor resources is required
6.     Proven ability to collaborate and partner with peers in a heavily matrixed organization is required
7.     Experience with Master Data Management and ETL applications or complex Master Data repositories in a large scale Business Intelligence deployment is highly desired
8.     Data modeling experience is highly desired
9.     Implementation and/or Integration experience with various leading technologies such as: Oracle, PeopleSoft, Siebel, etc. is highly desired
10.  Practical experience building and integrating solutions within a Service-oriented architecture is highly desired
11.  Ability to plan projects, teach, mentor, and supervise others, is highly desired
