Technical Support (hardware & software) (1001- Tech Support) Austin, Texas

Salary: USD15 - USD20 per hour

This is a long-term contract opportunity for a Technical Support Specialist to provide assistance in the design, development, and maintenance of various system applications. You will Install, maintain, and assist in testing and upgrading new and existing hardware and software.  You will also be responsible for maintaining the necessary security controls over software. You may also write and update personal computer and mainframe application programs.

 

Primary duties:

  • Install and maintain hardware and/or software for desktop systems
  • Troubleshoot computer, printer and plotter problems
  • Provide professional on site customer service to users
  • Perform simple system administration duties, e.g. adding user accounts
  • Perform troubleshooting for network hubs and wiring
  • Schedule, document, and close work order via support software
  • Obtain bids for hardware, software and other equipment and perform procurements activities
  • Assume after hours call back duties as assigned
  • Track and monitor company technology asset inventory
