Jonathan Lee Recruitment is working exclusively with our client Lontra in their search for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join this established innovative engineering company based near to the town of Southam in Warwickshire.

Due to continued growth and significant investment our client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to support demand for ever increasing projects. We are seeking an individual that is not fazed by a clean sheet approach to design and can offer innovative and logical thinking in their work.

You will have an excellent grasp of engineering and design principles but you'll be given the freedom to research idea's and implement the best whilst focusing on product optimisation and delivering high quality, highly efficient compressor designs.

The core responsibility of this role will include:

  • Identifying design solutions and prioritising work
  • Creating CAD schemes, detail models, FEA and drawings
  • Support and develop junior members of the design team
  • Liaising with suppliers and clients
  • Controlling design documentation
  • Supporting and contributing to the technical excellence of the design team

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in innovative design involving both creative design solutions and practical hands-on design work. You will be degree qualified within a relevant engineering specialism and ideally have knowledge and experience of Pro/ENGINEER however this is not essential. Knowledge of casting, machining and fabrication processes would also be viewed very advantageously.
