Food Technologist required for a major FMCG client based in Tamworth
As a Food Technologist you will be supporting the buying department with the development of new and exciting productsn which will be new to market in 2019/2020. This will be a Fixed Term Contract for 12 months
Objectives:
• To support the Buying teams with the development of new and existing products to ensure compliance to Aldi policies and that customer expectations are met.
• Ensure all products meet defined quality attributes in line with the chosen benchmark.
• Ensure that all product quality parameters are developed in line with QA and CR policies.
• Develops relationships with supplier technical teams to facilitate direct communication in relation to product development
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Actively participates in sampling and provides feedback as part of product evaluation.
• Provides process and improvement ideas for new product development with the Buying team.
• Acts as an advisor for product quality, corporate responsibility and technical requirements, alongside the QA and CR department and TSP.
• Liaises with Buying Directors across relevant commodity groups to drive opportunities for quality improvements.
Responsibility for action
• Actively works with Buying teams and Suppliers to develop new products and improve existing products using defined procedures and tools.
• Conducts quality assessments of products and oversees quality management throughout the product development lifecycle as directed by the Buying Director.
• Communicates effectively with all key stakeholders in the process - both cross functionally and at all levels within the business.
• Provides a link between the technical service provider and the supplier to facilitate collaborative working.
• Completes technical projects and reports as defined by the Buying teams.
• Keeps the QA Manager and CR Manager up to date with any relevant technical information as appropriate
