Sr Statistical Modeler (LNR000G0) Minneapolis, Minnesota

This position exists to conduct research and development tasks in the modeling/scoring functional area. The incumbent will be technically proficient in modeling/scoring and will complete projects with minimal supervision. The incumbent will balance day-to-day production assignments, research assignments and will contribute to the advancement of the group. The incumbent may lead a small team of statistical modelers, providing tactical direction and oversight of team's work. |

Accountabilities: 1. Review and provide critical guidance for the development, coding, and implementation of all analysis and models. 2. Develop and institute guidelines and standards for coding to be implemented by all modelers. 3. Provide consultative support, training, and be a resource to internal and external modelers and non-modeler audiences. 4. Provide consultation, training and analysis to the sales support group on sales presentations and product demonstrations. 5. Build statistical models and complete various analytical projects for marketing, underwriting, claims solutions and support internal product development projects. 6. Suggest/build software tools to streamline the building of models and other analytics. 7. Research and design advanced scores, attributes, products and indexes through exploration of across a wide range of data sources. 8. Serve as a team lead, providing oversight and direction.

Qualifications:
Masters degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics or quantitative methods (or equivalent years experience required) 7 years Experience in building predictive models using SAS or similar software package. 1. Applied modeling and analytics experience in applicable industry. Previous team lead experience preferred. 2. Advance user of SAS, SPSS or equivalent analytic software. 3. Thorough understanding of various statistical methodologies including linear regression, logistic regression, neural networks, and CHAID/CART. 4. Excellent analytical and project management skills. 5. Fluency with Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
