An entrepreneurial, owner managed business is seeking an experienced, hands-on Finance Director to help shape and deliver significant growth plans for this fast-paced business. A great opportunity for a skilled Financial Controller to take a step up to Director level. Based in the beautiful coastal resort of Scarborough, along with seaside lunchtime walks, your remuneration package includes a competitive salary, bonus scheme, benefits and free parking.  

Your role as Finance Director will involve you:

• Getting involved in the day to day accounting requirements whilst also taking a strategic lead on finance for the business
• Playing a key role in challenging the other directors to focus on the right things at the right time that delivers bottom line profit around one set of common KPI’s and goals
• Driving efficiencies across the business, ensuring the quality and consistency of systems and processes
• Leading on acquisitions and merger situations; completing due diligence and financial negotiations
• Managing a small finance team and ensuring accurate financial reporting is completed in a timely and efficient manner

We would be keen to speak to you if you have previously worked in a Finance Director, Financial Controller or Finance Manager position and you are ACCA / ACA / CIMA qualified or part-qualified;

Ideally, you will have:

• CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualification (or working towards)
• Previous accounting experience within an SME
• Previous track record of successfully growing a profitable business
• Commercial focus
• Passion and drive to take the business to the next level
• Ability to set own deadlines and work without supervision
• Previous managerial experience
• Strong accounting systems knowledge
