Accounts Assistant

Castle Employment is looking for an experienced multi-skilled Accounts Assistant to provide support for well-established manufacturing business based in Scarborough. This busy role of Accounts Assistant will encompass the following;

  • Sales Ledger – management of ledgers, invoices, credits and receipts
  • Credit Control – pro-active management of aged debts, weekly reporting and management of customer credit limits
  • Purchase Ledger – matching, coding and batching invoices
  • Cashbook – daily batch processing and bank reconciliations
  • Payroll administration – collation of timesheets and data entry for payroll runs
  • Preparing online banking payments as required
  • General finance administration, handling queries via phone and email

The Candidate:

The successful Accounts Assistant will have:

  • AAT Level 3 or above; or be qualified by equivalent relevant experience
  • Excellent IT skills including MS Office Word and Excel
  • Previous experience of working within a busy, multi-skilled accounts role
  • Strong organisational skills with an eye for accuracy and detail
  • Confident communication skills with a professional telephone manner to deal with customers and suppliers
  • Willingness and flexibility to support wider tasks arising within a small team
