Castle Accountancy & Finance are recruiting for a confident, experienced Management Accountant to work for one of the region’s fastest growing businesses based in York, North Yorkshire. Working as a Management Accountant you will be responsible for supporting the Financial Controller in an exciting, challenging, hands on role which will allow you to work closely with key stakeholders across the business, implementing new processes and aligning to group requirements.

• Responsible for prioritising own workloads and achieving deadlines
• A full driving license is required for this role as occasional travel will be required

Requirements:

This role will suit a flexible and committed Management Accountant who is looking to build on and enhance their existing finance experience in a fast-paced service based environment. Duties will include; 

• Preparation of full Monthly Management Accounts, including both Profit and Loss analysis and maintaining Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Reconciliation work between different operating systems
• Setting up of new companies on the system
• Setting up the management report structure in Excel, including mapping the trial balance from the system to Excel
• Entering opening balance sheet entries onto the finance system
• Creating balance sheet reconciliations for both completion accounts and new projects
• Creation, maintenance and posting of accruals, pre-payments journals
• Maintaining existing balance sheet reconciliations to cover fixed assets, current assets and current liabilities with back up documentation.
• Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register
• Producing monthly variance analysis
• Annual budgeting and forecasting
• Any other ad-hoc tasks / projects as required

The successful candidate for the Management Accountant role will:

• Possess a high degree of computer literacy - including MS Excel to an advanced level (Sage 50 /200 system desirable)
• Have previous experience of working in a fast paced environment
• Have excellent communication skills with the ability to resolve queries at all levels
• Have the ability to identify process flaws and solutions
