Castle Accountancy & Finance are recruiting for an experienced, self-motivated Credit Controller to join the Finance Team of a faced-paced, deadline driven, sales focused business based in York, North Yorkshire.  

As an integral member of the team you will be a strong team player, with a “can do” hands on attitude and the ability to manage and prioritise your own workload. Working knowledge of the direct debit process and VAT would be an advantage, as would strong IT skills, including MS Excel.

Requirements:

We are looking for experience in the following areas:

  • The setting up of credit accounts and negotiating payment plans
  • Ensure that customers are chased in a timely and courteous manner via telephone and email
  • Cash collection, posting and reconciliation
  • Provide weekly and monthly reporting of aged debtor and over-dues to the Finance Manager
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office applications including Excel
  • The ability to problem solve and deal effectively with resolving customer queries
  • The ability to work with accuracy, attention to detail and with good organisational skills
  • The ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Carrying out credit check when required
  • Working to clearly defined daily deadlines
  • Good general all round accounts experience with the ability to multi-skill where required
  • Previous experience of working in a high-volume transaction environment
