Castle Accountancy & Finance are recruiting for an experienced, self-motivated Accounts Assistant to provide support for an expanding manufacturing business based in Scarborough, North Yorkshire This exciting role of Accounts Assistant will encompass the following;

  • Working in a fast-paced environment
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly management accounts, including stock valuation
  • Preparation of monthly performance reports
  • Accurate weekly coding of purchase invoices with the correct nominal coding’s, ready for input to the purchase ledger
  • Weekly checking and authorisation of purchase invoices against order to ensure correct deliveries and charges
  • Monitoring the costs of raw materials on a weekly basis, reporting changes to the senior management team
  • Some credit control as required
  • Working closely across the business to provide additional support where required
  • Providing cover and support to the rest of the finance team as required

 

The Candidate:

The successful Accounts Assistant will have:

  • AAT Level 3 or above; or be working towards AAT with relevant experience
  • Excellent Computer and technology skills including MS Office; particularly strong Excel skills
  • Be familiar with Sage accounting software
  • Strong organisational skills with an eye for accuracy and detail
  • Confident communication skills with a professional telephone manner to deal with internal and external stakeholders
  • Willingness and flexibility to support wider tasks arising within a small team
  • Be a real team player with the desire to further develop skills as the business continues to grow
